The leaves are changing colors and the air is getting cooler. That can only mean one thing: Fall is here. Check out some of the best events happening this month. From Comedy to Beer or Arts Festivals, there's something for everyone. Here is a list of some fun events happening this October in Westchester County. So mark your calendars and get ready for some fun!

October 19 (Bedford) Trivia Night Rock Paper Scissors Events presents trivia night at the Bedford Playhouse. 7-8 PM. Teams of up to 6 players.

Taste of Westchester Cooking Demo Classes(restaurants throughout Westchester County) Enjoy cooking demos from local chefs and then sample their creations.  There are lots of October classes including: Zwilling J.A. October 8-9 (Mount Kisco) Captain Lawrence Oktoberfest – Enjoy, “beers, brats, music and good times.” Festivities begin around 1pm both days!

October 9 (Mahopac) Holy Smoke Oktoberfest – 1 PM – 5 PM. Enjoy this all you can eat and drink event on the Great Lawn. Games, giveaways, German beers and more. 21+ event. Tickets must be pre-purchased. Tickets: $100/person + $8.16 fee.

October 9 (White Plains) White Plains Oktoberfest 1-6 PM Live music, games, food and German beer. Taking place on Mamaroneck Avenue between E. Post Rd. and Maple Avenue. Advance tickets $11, day-of tickets $15, Cash and Credit card will be accepted at the door, but all outside bars will be cash only.

October 15 (Peekskill) Peekskill Brewery 14th Anniversary Block Party 2-8 PM, live music, food trucks, beer tents, vendors, artisans and more.


It's Great to Live in Harrison Day October 10.  Ma Riis Park Harrison Ave & Heineman Pl, Harrison, NY.  Parade 10:00 am Festival following Parade. Food, Rides, Activities & Entertainment for all ages.

Serious Fun Arts Fest October 12-16 White Plains. Arts activities ranging from concerts to live mural painting, a public art walking tour to dancing in the streets. There will be sculpture, performance art, massive public art unveilings by renowned artists, fun family art-making and more throughout the downtown. Don’t miss Sunday’s headliner concert with Sammy Rae and the Friends .

Lyndhurst Mansion - Fall Classic Mansion Tour October 14 - 28. This one-hour tour covers two floors and treats visitors to a rare glimpse of the lavish decorative arts and furniture left to Lyndhurst by previous owners all while decorated with the splendor of the Fall Season.

Fall Festival Scarsdale October 22-23 Kick off the fall season at Greenburgh Nature Center’s Fall Festival. Enjoy family-friendly activities like a pumpkin and scarecrow walk, live music, crafts and games, a scavenger hunt, apple cider demonstrations and tastings and more.

Westchester Craft Crawl--October 22-23. A free artist-organized outdoor studio tour in Westchester County, New York, featuring 50+ regional professional craft artists in clay, wood, fiber, metal, jewelry, glass and mixed media. There will be 4 stops in Croton-on-Hudson and Ossining.

Tarrytown Music Hall - Ghost Tours of The Music Hall October 24-29.  The building is an official site of the Haunted History Trail of New York. Gotham Paranormal Research Society has investigated the Music Hall several times and has consistently detected paranormal activity including intriguing EVP (electronic voice phenomena) audio files and EMF (electromagnetic field) readings.
