Where to Row in the Sound Shore

If you're an avid rower or just someone who's looking to try the sport, you're in luck! The Sound Shore area in Westchester County, New York is home to some of the best rowing clubs around. In this article, we'll take a closer look at the two top rowing clubs.

Pelham Community Rowing Association (PCRA)

Founded in 2003 by a passionate group of rowers, PCRA's mission is to enhance access to rowing in New York. Since its establishment, the organization's Race Team program has achieved great success, earning multiple New York State Championships, medals at prestigious events such as Head of the Charles and Youth Nationals, and U15/U17 national titles. Many alumni of the program have gone on to continue their rowing careers at prestigious universities across the country at the Division 1, Division 3, and Club levels. The Masters program has also excelled, bringing home numerous medals from national competitions and regattas across the country.

PCRA is privileged to have a boathouse located on the picturesque Glen Island, with access to the 1964 Olympic time trial course, a serene 2000-meter lagoon.

In 2020, PCRA expanded its offerings with the launch of The Studio, an indoor rowing and fitness center located in downtown Pelham, NY. The Studio@PCRA provides dynamic indoor rowing and fitness classes for individuals of all skill levels.
